Dear Gautam,
Only a month away from toddlerhood, you now weigh 9 kgs, and I do not know how many cms, but you’re doing pretty well. You can walk now, even though we really have to coax you into taking those tiny little steps. You have also started climbing down beds and sofas, which means we cannot leave you alone anymore. What’s more, you even want to try climbing down the stairs, which is very very risky. You’re still too young for that.
Here’s what finally convinced you to start walking on your own:
You play peekaboo with everyone you come across in the most adorable way. Look at this.
You’ve started saying a lot of syllables, but your favourite is bha-bha-bha (and it does not mean dog. Practically everything is bha bha) And you even got your mundan done this month like a champ. No fuss at all. Kinnu Bua came to Pune for this, which made it all the more special.

And might I also add that you are an awesome dancer! The moment you hear beats, whatever they may be-drums, pujo dhaaki, the coffee table or just clapping, you start doing your cutesy dance which makes every ones’ hearts melt.
Your smile is becoming more and more infectious by the day. And like I told you earlier, you still do not leave any smile unreturned! You engage and play with strangers on the plane, in the mall, and everywhere you go.
On a different note, Gautam, you are becoming terribly naughty. You have learnt to scream and shout to get your way. While I try to not yield, more often than not, I do, because you’re my little baby after all. Dadda on the other hand, holds his ground much better. I think you have identified my weakness, you smart cookie. I must figure out a way to discipline you.
As your first birthday approaches, I am feeling a little overwhelmed, because, while I understand that you’re still too tiny to understand any of it, I still want to make the day special for my little boy. And special is what I will make it π
So here’s a long big letter hug, till the next one!
Love,
Ma
