My little boy is growing up so fast. Soon after the 7 month mark, he started standing up by himself with the support of furniture (and our legs) and today, he climbed up the staircase by himself. See!
And here’s another angle, just because I can’t get enough:
Time and again I have denied myself this feeling, thinking that babies pull off such stunts all the time, but folks, I just cannot bottle this up anymore. I am super-duper proud of my son! He climbed his first staircase and it was kick-ass! Just look at him go! He wanted my slippers, and he wanted to make damn sure he would get them.
That’s how it’s done, my son! That’s how it’s done *happy mommy tears*
And this is not all. There was another first today. Gautam and I woke up around the same time this morning. He looked for me with groggy eyes and called out “ma, mamma”. And there it was, just like that. The last nine+seven and a half months flashed before my eyes, and I thought to myself-this moment was worth all of it.
I have been reliving that moment the entire day, and will continue doing so till the next one drops by. All in all, today was a glorious day for me.
Gautam has been going through a growth spurt the last couple of weeks (clearly!) and we have been having sleepless nights. He gets up-which is different from wakes up btw, at random hours in the night and sleep crawls/sleep climbs on anything that comes in his way. Clearly, he is practicing his new motor skills even while he is asleep! We literally have to hold him back and pat him to sleep, which is why he has been sharing our bed for the last few days, and I’m secretly loving it!
He is becoming more and more adorable by the day, but also demanding. He has always been a smiling baby and continues to be that, but has also figured out how to express frustration and anger. He communicates with us now š
